Internet-famous photographs of renowned Mexican diver Diego Barrieza hope to help him realize his dream of competing in the Olympic Games for a second time. Balleza, a synchronized 10 meter high jumper who placed fourth at the Tokyo Olympics, created an OnlyFans account to fund his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympics after the head of Mexico’s National Sports Council ceased funding all water sports enthusiasts. The fit diver, who is accustomed to wearing skimpy swimwear in front of crowds and cameras, stated that he believed a subscription platform for users to sell content would assist him in increasing his income.
The 28-year-old athlete charges fans $15 per month to access his private content, as well as up to $135 for three-, six-, and twelve-month subscriptions.
“The money I’m receiving from OnlyFans at the moment is extremely volatile, but so far it’s worked out,” he said. In addition to OnlyFans, Balleza has received funding from the private sector and the state government of Nuevo Leon.
Due to an internal dispute between World Aquatics and Ana Guevara, president of Mexico’s National Sports Council, state funding has been withheld.
Guevara, enraged by the change in leadership at the Mexican Swimming Federation, has reduced pay for all water sports enthusiasts in the country.
